About NuA · Philosophy & System of Care

Before treatment,
we begin by understanding the patient

Care at NuA follows a process: we listen, check, choose the treatment you need, explain why, and then look at the changes.

For NuA, balance is not a result but the standard of care. Rather than showing how many kinds of treatment we offer, we value the process of judging what needs to be checked for this patient right now and which direction they need. Even with the same symptom, when it began, the person's daily life and what they find hardest differ from one person to another.

Our standard of care 01

We listen first

We do not only ask where it hurts. We listen to when it started, in which situations it gets worse, and whether anything keeps repeating in your daily life.

Our standard of care 02

We check what you need now

Based on the consultation, we carry out an examination and the checks that are needed. We do not apply the same tests or the same treatment to every patient.

Our standard of care 03

We set the direction of treatment

From among various approaches such as acupuncture, Chuna Manual Therapy (a Korean medicine hands-on therapy for the joints and muscles), Pharmacopuncture (a treatment that applies refined herbal extracts to acupuncture points), Acupotomy (a treatment using a fine needle with a flat tip) and herbal medicine, we choose the direction that fits your current concern.

Our standard of care 04

We explain why it is needed

Before treatment begins, we explain what it is for. We help you understand your own course of care.

We look at the changes after treatment

At the next visit, we look at what has changed compared with before and adjust the direction of treatment if needed.
